Media literacy
The Office of Communication (Ofcom) is very interested in how the public use media.Ofcom believe " Through confident use of communications technologies people will gain a better understanding of the world around them and be better able to engage with it."
Ofcom has therefore developed an media literacy strategy and will work with stakeholders to focus on the present and future media literacy needs of all members of society.
Ofcom defines media literacy as ‘the ability to access, understand and create communications in a variety of contexts’.
There is a close relationship between information and media literacy.
